​PLANNING DEPARTMENT

Functions of the Department

  1. Planning the development within MBSA area. 

  2. Providing and monitoring the Structural Plan and Local Plan. 

  3. Reviewing existing policies for amendments and updates from time to time. 

  4. Responsible for the implementation of sustainable development programmes and activities (LA21) Shah Alam City and to be conducted according to the vision set.

Customer Charter

  1. Processing the application for layout plan permission within forty (40)* days from the date of submission of the application (subject to amendment / order of KPKT). 

  2. Processing the application for private building plan permission within forty (40)* days from the date of submission of the application (subject to amendment / order of KPKT). 

  3. Processing of application for the change of the use of building materials planning permission within two (2)* months from the acceptance date.

  4. Processing and reviewing the application for conversion of land use terms, government land, temporary occupation license within fourteen (14) days from the acceptance date.

  5. Processing the application for roads, parks and buildings naming within fourteen (14) days*. 

  6. To review license applications two (2) days before the date of the review coordination meeting. 

  7. Processing the application for premises numbers change within fourteen (14) days from the date the completed application. ​

  8. Coordinating the Safe City and Barrier Free Committee Meeting once a month. 

  9. Coordinating the Sustainable Development Driver Meeting twice a year. 

  10. Coordinating LA21 Working Committee Coordination Meeting 4 times a year.
