ISO History - An organization which was named as the “International Organization For Standardization" was established in Geneva in 1949.
- This organization has over 100 members responsible for forming guidelines and standards for various sectors whether manufacturing, installation, services and others.
- This includes quality standards such as ISO 9002 which is globally used throughout the world.
Did you know? - “ISO” is not an acronym to the “International Standard Organization” as had been the perception of many people but is actually a Latin word which means “same” or “equal”.
- It represents all agencies that carries out ISO 9002 which has similarities in terms of standards and its systems.
ISO 9002 Principle - Quality Management System
- As an assurance towards the quality of management and services. ISO 9002 is not an assurance to a product. It entails all activities carried out. - Documented Procedures
-All activities involved with the Quality System must be documented - Carrying out Documented Procedures
-All activities must be carried out according to the documented procedures - Prove what has been carried out
-Which are relevant activities which need to be recorded systematically - Fulfills Client’s Needs

-Clients are the public who interact with MBSA. To ensure that services are always efficient, the Client’s Charter was drafted as a promise/commitment form MBSA to its clients (public) - Ensuring Consistent Quality Services
-To avoid double standards in services, all activities carried out according to procedures are documented. Failure to do so will be considered as Non-Conformance. - ISO 9002 as a Basis to Continuous Improvement
-In the ISO 9002 System, there are several mechanisms used to measure the effectiveness of activities carried out. This mechanism will be carried out from time to time to ensure the process of improvement happens consistently.
