Functions of the Department

  1. Planning development in the MBSA area.​​

  2. Prepare and monitor Structural Plans and Local Plans.​​​

  3. Check the policies that are provided to be improved and updated from time to time

  4. Processing applications for permission to plan layout/building plans and building conversions

  5. Coordination of the naming of areas, roads and buildings​

  6. Coordinate unauthorized squatters/stalls and unauthorized factories​

  7. ​Coordinate the sustainable development of Shah Alam

  8. Development plan preparation

  9. Planning enforcement (misuse of land/ misuse of buildings)

  10. Coordinate planning standards guidelines

  11. Supporting applications to change land conditions, lot mergers, government land application

  12. Support license applications, development plans

  13. Monitoring the development of low-cost houses​

  14. Giving reviews of privatization projects (land & buildings)

  15. Provide Geography Information System (GIS)​​​​

Customer Charter

  1. Processing the application for layout plan permission within thirty (30)* days from the date of submission of the application (subject to amendment / order of KPKT). 

  2. Processing the application for private building plan permission within thirty (30)* days from the date of submission of the application (subject to amendment / order of KPKT). 

  3. Processing of ​​application for the c​hange of the use of building materials planning permission within two (2)* months from the acceptance date.

  4. Processing and reviewing the application for conversion of land use terms, government land, temporary occupation license within fourteen (14) days from the acceptance date.

  5. Processing the application for roads, parks and buildings naming within fourteen (14) days*. 

  6. To review license applications two (2) days before the date of the review coordination meeting. 

  7. Processing the application for premises numbers change within fourteen (14) days from the date the completed application. ​​

  8. Coordinating the Sustainable Development Driver Meeting thrice a year. ​

Note: * The period is subjected to the nearest date of the Meeting of the Central Committee (OSC)​ ​​​​​​​
