Shah Alam is administrated by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) which was established together with the declaration of Shah Alam as the capital of Selangor. MBSA, which was formerly known as Shah Alam Municipal Council (MPSA), was established on December 7th, 1978 simultaneously with the declaration of Shah Alam as capital of Selangor Darul Ehsan. However, MBSA administration only began its operation on January 1st 1979. In the early stages, the MBSA administration operated from a shophouse in Section 3 and then in PKNS Complex in 1981. It was only in 1988 that the MBSA employees transferred to a 28-stories building which is known as WISMA MBSA. The RM141 million building houses all of the departments of MBSA. Wisma spaces are also rented out to government departments and private sectors. |
